This week (May 5th) was mine and Julia’s Anniversary. Our good friends Roger & LeAnn and their son Austin came over to watch Ella the night before while Julia & I went to dinner at a nice Italian restaurant in Hendersonville called Nana Rosa. Though the night out with just the two of us was great, I think Roger & LeAnn enjoyed it more!
The following morning I surprised Julia by taking the day off and provided her with a list of activity options for the day. Since she’s been wanting to see a play, and Broadway (NY) was a little further than we could go in a day, I got tickets for a play called Robin Goodfellow at the Nashville Children’s Theater (a little corny, yes but it was good).
Probably the funniest part for us is when the guy & girl actor kissed and the kids in the audience started screaming – hilarious. Julia also enjoyed some quality time with her phone…
Since it was such a beautiful day, we decided to have lunch outside at Copper Kettle and then walk around downtown – starting from the pedestrian bridge by LP Field. Of course in Downtown Nashville there’s always live music somewhere, but today was National Day of prayer and we stumbled upon a mini-revival going on at the Bridgestone Arena that we decided to take in.
After that we walked down by riverfront and viewed the high water from all the rain we’ve had lately – though nothing compared to the record flooding we saw last year. In this picture, Julia is standing next to the water level marker that reaches 50 ft. Last year at this time, the water was over the top of it! Amazing.
My mom was nice enough to keep Ella for us and kept us constantly updated with pics.
It was a great day…
